Design Submission
How do I upload my own drawings?
We print anything. It can be a photo, a drawing, a sketch, an album cover, letters – it doesn’t matter. All you have to do is scan the hard copy version of the design you want printed, making sure that you select ‘600dpi’ in the scanning settings. You have to convert your image to a jpg. Or png. format in order to upload it to the designer. If you don’t know what those formats mean, just email us the scans of the image at sales@garmentprinting.com.au. We’ll do it for you and send it back.
How can I tell that my artwork is centered properly?
You don’t have to worry – that’s what we’re here for. If you’re uneasy about where you’ve placed your design on the garment, shoot us a call! We’ll get back to you with our suggestions or advice on placement and centering.
Accepted File Formats
· Raster Images: PNG, JPG/JPEG, GIF, BMP
· Vector Images: EPS, PS, AI, CDR
· Photoshop Images: PSD, TIF/TIFF
If you’re seeing trouble with uploading or converting files, send the file to sales@garmentprinting.com.au
Image Quality
Vector files produce the best quality prints for your garment. For non-vector files, it’s best that you upload an image with at least 150 dots per inch.
It’s a general rule that the higher the quality of the image you upload, the higher the quality of your results.
Contrast Issues
When your order has been submitted, we’ll check it over to ensure that the design will be printed properly. If we have reason to believe that it won’t be properly visible, we’ll probably contact you to inform you of the issue. A common problem arises when computer screens show colour contrasts differently, making it seem like certain colours go well with others when they definitely don’t. it’s never best to have a design that based on the same colour or is the same colour of the garment itself.
Removing Background Colors
When you submit your order, our artists check to ensure that your designs don’t have excess background colours. Most times, they can easily figure out whether the background colours are meant to be removed or not. However, if it happens and they aren’t sure, one of our team will contact you to make sure.
Match Colors in Your Design
Our artists can also help with the matching of colours in your design. In the image below, the design on the left has text that is a bit different from the color of the image itself. We then alter the design so that the colors match perfectly, as shown on the design on the right. If you’d like to request that we match colours in your design for you, just use the ‘Add Notes’ feature on the checkout page to tell us which colours you’d like to match.
Pantone (PMS) Color Matching
If your design needs a specific ink colour, we offer colour matching using the Pantone Matching System:
· Costs $25 for each ink colour, per print location
· Applies to screen printing method only
· Coated Pantone colors only (code ends with the letter "C")
To ask us for a colour match, just create your design and then use the ‘Add Notes’ feature to tell us which colors you would like us to use in the design.
Print Dimensions
Our standard print size is 35cm width by 40cm height, maximum. This size will of course vary based on where the design will be printed on the garment – sleeves and pockets have smaller surface area for printing. The pictures below show the average print dimensions on a large adult tee shirt. It’s important to note that the actual print size may vary based on the size or type of the garment.
How do I share my design with others?
You can use the ‘share’ feature when you use our designer. This lets you save the design and share it with others via email and Facebook.
